In Paul's third journey he went by land from Alexandria Troas to Assos, about a 21-mile-long trip; perhaps
he walked, perhaps someone offered him a ride. Luke and the others with him took the ship and they met in Assos (Acts 20:13-14).
From there they went across to Mytilene. Their next landfall was opposite Chios.
